Producer's Note from the program

"Fiddler" marks my third and last year as producer for Peter Quince. During that time I've seen our members take the company from a boisterous "Molly Brown" to a delicate piece of art called "Fiddler on the roof"
Tonight my dream has come true. Peter Quince is established to do first-rate musical theatre in a professional manner. To many, Peter Quince is more than just good theatre. To me especially it has been much more. To much to try to explain here; it has been many people, sharing my dreams, and making sacrifices to make them come true.
Tonight I thank them all, from the very first member to our newest recruit. They believed in me and my ideas, and now, as I leave Peter Quince, I have a chance to repay them by believing in the future of Peter Quince.
From its very beginning Peter Quince was made possible through the support and acceptance of this community. Before I leave Peter Quince, I would like to thank you all for helping make my dream come true by coming to our production. And as I join you on the outside, I urge you to join me in supporting Peter Quince as it continues to grow into one of our community's proudest assets.
Thank you
Reed Humphrey

Director's Note from the program

Tonight, Peter Quince marks its third season, an excellent time to pause and review the Company's progress. From a fledgling theatre group has emerges an established company capable of presenting you with quality entertainment. For this we must thank the entire community for its support and encouragement. But it would be impossible to thank anyone had there been no dreamer to spark the idea. Therefore, we take this opportunity to recognize of resident dreamer, Reed Humphrey.
Discouraged by the lack of student musical theatre in the area, Reed set out armed only with the dream of a self-supporting student theatre. He faced numerous obstacles: the recent failure of a somewhat similar group; the arrival of scripts a mere three weeks before opening night; and, of course, funds. That he succeeded is a fact; how he did so is amazing. Reed acted as both producer and director, in addition to holding full-time employment; he loaned the Company needed funds; he seemed to be an entire business staff roled into one person. He was, in short, everywhere at once, eighteen hours a day. The next two years were easier, but you couldn't tell by watching Reed. His pace never slackened; instead, he serves as producer and even took time out to act in a lead role.
The sum total of his striving, dedicated service was appropriately phrased by Reed, "...willingness to seek responsibility for what seems to be an impossible venture is the contagious spirit of Peter Quince and the real magic of the theatre." This is the singular magic Reed Humphrey has, by his life, infused into ours.
For all of this, words can only incompletely express our deep gratitude. I am sure I speak for the entire Company, past and present, when I say,
"Reed, by giving of yourself so completely, you have enriched our lives more than you can know. Success and happiness in the future; you will never be forgotten.
Shalom!
