Producer's Note from the program

Time changes everything. Woodstock is clearly an example. Thirty years ago the Summer of Love brought about a festival organized to promote peace and love. This year a festival of the same name was organized for publicity and money. Hopefully Quince has not changed that much since 1969. But with every new Quince generation the focus does change.
Like Woodstock in '99, this season in Quince is ending quite differently than it started. This season, the thirty-first in Quince history, started out rather shaky. We went through the agonizing experience of gathering actors to fill gaps. Many things waited to the last minute to come together. But in the end, everything did come together. The ever-changing tradition continues. The cast and crews pulled everything together and made it all work.
To finish, I would like to thank all former Quincers. Without you, we would not be here. I would also like to thank everyone who is a Quincer at heart - those of you who never actually became members but help us out nonetheless. I would finally like to thank the current Quince generation. Your hard work has definitely paid off.

Directors' Note from the program

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. As you watch tonight's performance of Li'l Abner, take some time to think about what you're witnessing. The many weeks of hard work that each performer you see on stage put into this show. The hours it took to make the set (special thanks to Jason Myatt, Mat Richardson, and Ardienne Wallner). Not to mention the painting, fundraising campaigns, ad sales and everything else that goes into making the show a success, both on stage and off.
As you think of all this, consider the fact that the Peter Quince Performing Company is comprised of young adults ages twelve through twenty-three. Impressive, isn't it? If you take all of that into consideration as you watch the great show they have put together, you might be able to feel the pride I have as a director for each person in Quince. Whether they are acting, stage managing, producing, or working in the sound booth, I am proud of all of them for the hard work they have done to make this season a success. So join me in being proud of our community's youth, and while you're at it, enjoy the show.
