Program Notes
Producer's Note from the program
Good Evening,
I would like to welcome you to the show this evening. For you make the show as much as the actors, actresses, orchestra, and crews. You are the reason we produce the show. As the orchestra begins the overture allow the mood that it creates to carry you into that South Pacific atmosphere. Within that atmosphere you are allowed to be yourself, to finally relax!
As the curtain rises you will see a Polynesian island in the South Pacific. This island is filled with G.I.'s and nurses who, before this summer began, were youths of the Manitowoc-Two Rivers area. Tonight you will be seeing the hard work and efforts of one summer culminate into an evening of enchantment. In this, out ninth season, over one hundred and fifty young people were involved in all facets of the theatre, and we are always looking for more.
As Ensign Nellie Forbrush would say, we are "cockeyed optimists" striving for perfection. Striving, yes, but mostly learning. And that is what Quince is all about. This unique quality along with spirit and determination, has made PQPC a success throughout its past years I have seen this unique quality and felt that spirit and determination. With great pleasure we present to you tonight our product, our efforts.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Peter Quince Performing Company, Ltd. proudly presents SOUTH PACIFIC!

Director's Note from the program
Good Evening,
It has been so challenging and rewarding to be the general director of SOUTH PACIFIC. Our play is unique in that the heart-warming story demands not only joy and rousing songs but tearful sorrow and an intimate ballet. Variety, spirit, energy, and emotion flow from all aspects of the show to you, our audience. However it is your receptivity which makes tonight special. Journey with us to a mysterious island in the south seas. Experience each moment and enjoy the moods we create.
Throughout the summer much stretching, cooperation, persevering, honesty, joy, and love has brought us all closer in the course of our voyage. SOUTH PACIFIC has deeply touched me. As I sit back in the audience it is as if I were watching a ship I helped to build and launch. Now it is free to sail.
We hope the care and enthusiasm everyone has put forth will truly make SOUTH PACIFIC "some enchanted evening" of theatre.
